This is actually one of the techniques we teach in The Contemporary Clay Instructors Program, the technique was originally taught to me by the wonderful Melanie Dilday. Sadly bigger things have called to Mel, so she rarely teaches now days, but her legacy of unselfishly sharing her knowledge and supporting new clay artists is still with us, this project being one of the originals written for the instructors program. In fact, I think Mel taught me more about surface effects and polymer clay than any other teacher I've had, and I've been lucky enough to have some good ones! The notes I've written up for this class have taken me back down memory lane and made me look at things 'out of the square', so please come along and join me at the Expo if you wish to learn more about this fascinating technique and the variety of effects you can achieve with it.
These beads are some of samples I made for an upcoming workshop that I am running in November for the Bead Society of Victorias' Expo

Wow, I absolutely LOVE the colours and the patterns. I love beading when I get the chance. I love to feel bead if you know what I mean. When I make something it's specifically made for the feeling I get from that person, I have never made anything the same. But, I find beading relaxing. I have never made my own beads, but this polymier clay looks great and it is soooooo beautiful . Love the tea pot as well. Thank you I wish I lived in Melbourne so I can learn, Amazing. I will send some sun down from beautiful Queensland we are having wonderful warm days.

Thanks Susan! Yes I love the gentle nature of the colours, and a lot if it is claying 'by feeling' - I know exactly what you mean! There is lots of info online about polymer clay, and we are lucky enough here in Aus to have several up and coming polymer talents - look for my friend Rachel Azulie, she's just moved to Brisbane. http://www.azuliesparks.com
